After the dark days of the war, life in an unspoilt Mediterranean village seemed like paradise. This was Cyprus before the troubles, when Greeks and Turks lived together amicably.
John’s new job was in teacher training, and he has much to say about primary school education, especially about teaching reading and maths. An inveterate linguist, he learned Greek in order to read the New Testament in Greek, and comments on the Greek and Turkish languages.
